Rafizi Ramli has criticized Perikatan Nasional leaders for refusing to participate in a debate with him on economic matters. This follows the rejection of the challenge by coalition’s prominent figures, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and caretaker Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
The Economy Minister accused Perikatan of projecting itself on social media as if they were going to take power after the state polls. He expressed his disappointment in a tweet, stating, “When I call them for a debate, so that the people can evaluate their plans, they have rejected the invitation.”
Rafizi questioned whether the refusal to debate stems from the lack of ideas or economic plans among Perikatan leaders. He pointed to the states under their administration, emphasizing that ruling is not just about power but also the responsibility to improve the lives of the people.
Expressing his concern, Rafizi asked if there were any other proposed names from Perikatan and sarcastically suggested that they might request a letter only to reject it later when called for a debate.
Earlier, Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Sulaiman had also declined Rafizi’s offer for a debate.
