According to Fahmi Fadzil, all p-hailing drivers and riders can access internet services for as low as RM33 with a data plan of at least 40GB through the Rahmah p-hailing package. The Communications Minister stated that this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to support and alleviate the burden of p-hailing drivers and riders.
Fahmi highlighted that the government is committed to empowering the digital economy sector and ensuring that the p-hailing service is accessible nationwide. He emphasized that the package aims to provide internet services for as low as RM33 with a data plan of at least 40GB.
He also mentioned that the telco packages are tailored specifically to meet the needs of p-hailing riders and drivers, allowing them to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively. The Rahmah p-hailing package involves collaborations with 16 p-hailing platform provider companies, including FoodPanda, Grab, Bungkusit, and others.
The telco companies involved in the package include CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM (Unifi Mobile), and YTL Communications (Yes). Each package is unique and different, and the agreements are based on a B2B arrangement with the respective platform providers.
Fahmi Fadzil launched the Rahmah p-hailing package at RTM Angkasapuri, and emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure that p-hailing drivers and riders have the necessary connectivity to carry out their duties effectively.
The Rahmah p-hailing package signifies the government’s commitment to supporting the digital economy and making internet services accessible to p-hailing drivers and riders across the country.
