KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan is confident that all Members of Parliament will be fully prepared and actively participate in the debate on the royal address by the King of Malaysia, which is set to begin on Tuesday (Feb 27).
The Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurs Development and Cooperatives made this statement after the royal address at the opening of the First Meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Parliament in the Parliament building on Monday (Feb 26).
“In the royal address, MPs attending the Parliament session tomorrow are encouraged to make the most of the debate session to provide their insights and cooperation in carrying out their duties to assist the people and advance the nation,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Monday.
“His Majesty, the King of Malaysia also urged Members of Parliament to engage in a respectful debate by adhering to the procedures and rules of the Dewan Rakyat,” he added.
During the opening ceremony of the First Meeting of the Third Session of the 15th Parliament, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim offered reminders, advice, and perspectives on various topics, including the conduct and behaviour of Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, the nation’s debt, and political stability. – Bernama
