The Muslim Scholars Association of Malaysia (PUM) has suggested that the government should urge Arab and Islamic countries to reject any attempts to normalize relations with Israel and continue to strengthen their support for the struggle of the Palestinians.
This suggestion was made during the Palestine-Israel Conflict seminar on Saturday (Nov 4), in response to the recent developments in the Gaza Strip. The seminar highlighted the increasing death toll, Israel’s violation of international law, and the restrictions imposed on basic needs.
The statement released by PUM strongly condemns Israel’s actions, which consistently violate international law and result in the tragic deaths and injuries of civilians, including women and children in Gaza, Palestine.
PUM also calls upon the government to play a crucial role within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and to activate the body to take proactive measures in resolving the conflict.
Furthermore, the association insists on granting full permission to external parties to provide humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza. They believe that this aid should be allowed, and the Israeli government and relevant countries should not hinder these efforts.
The statement from PUM emphasizes the need for the Israeli government to cease its uncivilized attacks on the people in Gaza. It also calls for an immediate ceasefire to be initiated so that measures towards peace can be taken.
