Remains of missing man discovered inside wrecked vehicle

KOTA TINGGI: The body of a 42-year-old man was discovered two days after he went missing.

The body was found in a crashed vehicle at KM16 of Jalan Bandar Penawar-Punggai here.

Supt Hussin Zamora, the OCPD of Kota Tinggi, stated that the victim’s family reported him missing when he failed to return home two days earlier.

“A member of the public discovered the body after spotting a crashed car 40m away from the road in the bushes.

“Investigations revealed that the victim was traveling towards Punggai and is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel before the accident,” he revealed in a statement on Saturday (July 29).

No evidence of criminal activity was found at the scene,” he added.

The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act.
