SUNGAI BULOH: The Prisons Department is renovating 2,940 staff quarters nationwide with an allocation of RM41mil, announced Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (Management) Abd Kadir Rais. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for providing the funding in July and stated that the renovations would boost the morale of the department’s staff. These improvements would have a positive effect on their work quality. Abd Kadir mentioned that the renovation work consists of 102 projects, as per Bernama.
“Ten of the projects have already been completed, including two at Taiping Prison and two at Labuan Correctional Centre,” Abd Kadir disclosed. The remaining projects are located at Kemunting Correctional Centre, Sungai Buloh Prison, Muar Rehabilitation Centre, Penor Prison in Kuantan, Henry Gurney School in Keningau, and Henry Gurney School in Telok Mas,” he added.
