Two 16-year-old boys drowned in a river in Segari near Pantai Remis, and their bodies were found on Tuesday (Feb 13). The bodies were discovered at 12.40pm and 5.05pm by the Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon.
Sayani Saidon stated, “G. Sarath’s body was discovered at 12.40 pm, followed by T. Eishwarpillai’s body at 5.05 pm.” Earlier that morning, rescuers also found the body of another victim, 14-year-old Chew Darumaraj, at 9.05 am.
Sarath’s body was found between 200m and 300m from the last known location site and his body was stuck in a fisherman’s net. The third body, Eishwarpillai, was found floating about 100m from the site,” she added.
On Monday (Feb 12), the three friends had gone fishing and swimming at Sungai Sempit in Kg Tanjung Batu Segari in Pantai Remis.
