PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Razak must reveal the names of all those who conspired to cover up the 1MDB scandal, says Pejuang.
Pejuang’s information chief Rafique Rashid said since the former Prime Minister had apologised, he should now reveal those involved in the debacle.
“Najib must name each individual who were masterminds and others who conspired,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 24).
He added that government and enforcement agency officers, as well as board members involved should be named.
“This is the challenge that Pejuang is presenting to Najib,” he said.
He added that if he fails to do so, it would be no fault of the public to presume his apology was only lip service.
Earlier on Thursday, Najib issued a statement apologising to the Malaysian people over the 1MDB debacle, which happened during his tenure as prime minister.
He said he decided to make the statement after much reflection over 26 months in jail following developments over 1MDB-related issues.
“It pains me to know the 1MDB debacle happened under my watch as the minister of finance and prime minister.
“For that, I would like to apologise unreservedly to the Malaysian people,” he said.
Najib also acknowledged that he should have acted differently when suspicions about 1MDB first arose.
