The upgrading of faulty street lights along several roads in Bandar Baru Bangi and Kajang, Selangor, is scheduled to be completed by Nov 13, according to Hulu Langat Public Works Department district engineer Mohd Zamri Mohamud. Mohamud mentioned that Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan has allocated RM147,285 from his constituency funds to enhance lighting in selected areas. The areas in Bandar Baru Bangi consist of three roundabouts, one in Section 7 and two in Section 15, as well as two roads, namely Jalan P1 and Jalan P1A. Mohamud stated that some lights will be repaired, while others will be replaced with LED lights. Additionally, Jalan Reko in Kajang will have LED solar-type street lights installed, with the work commencing on Sept 18 and lasting for eight weeks. Mohamud made these remarks during a press conference, where Syahredzan handed over the tender acceptance letter for the projects to MN Power Services.

Mohamud expressed his gratitude to Syahredzan for contributing RM19,995 for the repair of fences at the Bandar Baru Bangi government quarters, which were completed on Sept 8. Syahredzan mentioned that he will utilize the MP’s allocation to address basic infrastructure issues faced by constituents. During his visit to the government quarters, Syahredzan observed that the fence was in poor condition and took action to rectify it. He further commented that although the funds are limited, he will do his utmost to assist the 690,000 people in Bangi. Syahredzan encouraged residents to come forward and propose improvement works for their areas.
