Over RM4.6mil worth of gambling chips have been stolen from a casino in Genting Highlands. The Bentong OCPD, Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar, received a report on the theft on Oct 28. The Genting Highlands Casino security management lodged a report at around 6.30pm on that day. They claimed that casino chips amounting to RM4,607,800 were stolen. One of the casino rooms where the chips were stored had been broken into by force. Supt Zaiham confirmed these details when contacted on Saturday (Nov 4). However, he declined to provide further information due to the ongoing investigation.
Supt Zaiham stated that several suspects have been identified, although he did not rule out the possibility of an inside job. At this time, additional details are yet to be revealed about the incident.
