The Royal Malaysian Air Force and the United States’ Pacific Air Force (Pacaf) will be holding the COPE TAUFAN exercise from September 16-29. During this exercise, assets from both countries will be conducting tactical flights in designated training areas in Penang, Pahang, and Perak.
The purpose of this exercise is to enhance the readiness of the Air Force in defending national sovereignty and to promote interoperability, information sharing, cooperation, and bilateral relations between the two air forces. It will involve various categories of air assets, including fighter planes, transporters, and helicopters.
In a statement released on Friday, the Air Force advised the public not to be alarmed if they see aircraft flying over the training area during the exercise period. This exercise serves as an opportunity for both countries to strengthen their defense capabilities and foster closer ties.
