    PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Nuclear Agency (Nuklear Malaysia) has announced the appointment of Dr Rosli Darmawan as their new director-general, effective from Sept 6. Dr Rosli takes over from Dr Abdul Rahim Harun, who retired on May 1. The decision to appoint Dr Rosli, who was previously the deputy director-general (research and technology development), was based on his qualifications, experience, and knowledge in nuclear engineering development and research. Dr Rosli holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of the Pacific, United States, and in manufacturing systems engineering and mechanical engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

    Meanwhile, Dr Muhamma Rawi Zin has been appointed as the new deputy director-general (Research and Technology Development) and Dr Ishak Mansor as the new deputy director-general (research and technology development).

    Nuklear Malaysia, which is an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, is a leading organization in the field of research and development (R&D) in nuclear science and technology.

    The appointment of Dr Rosli is expected to bring further expertise and leadership to Nuklear Malaysia, especially with his extensive experience in nuclear reactor safety systems.
