In Sabah’s Keningau district, a rubber tapper was found dead with suspected snake bite wounds. Villagers discovered the lifeless body of the 36-year-old victim and promptly informed the police. The police quickly responded to the call that came in on July 13th at 8am. The victim was found lying on the ground next to a grass cutting machine. It is believed that he had gone to the plantation the day before to tap rubber and trim the grass.
Deputy Superintendent Nor Rafidah Kasim, the Keningau Police Chief, stated that upon inspection, blackish red marks were found on the victim’s body, which were suspected to be bite wounds from a venomous animal. She added that on Wednesday (July 19th), this incident was classified as a sudden death. The body of the victim was taken to the Keningau hospital where an autopsy would be conducted.
