Sabah floods: 102 evacuated in Beaufort

A total of 102 individuals from 36 households in Beaufort have been moved to the temporary shelter at Dewan Selagon as of noon on Saturday (Sept 23), according to the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat.

Out of the evacuees, there are 15 males and 32 females, while the remaining 35 are boys and 20 are girls.

Due to continuous rainfall in the region, flash floods occurred, leading to the opening of the relief center at 4pm on Friday (Sept 22).

In a statement, the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat mentioned that monitoring and rescue operations are currently underway at high-risk locations in the district due to the incessant heavy rain. This situation is ongoing. – Bernama
