Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, the Sabah Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister, has expressed Sabah’s desire to strengthen its cooperation with Japan in order to advance the development of biomass, green industries, and renewable energy technologies within the state.
He emphasized the importance of Sabah learning from Japan’s leadership and technology in order to support sustained growth and development in the state.
During a recent luncheon with Japan Ambassador to Malaysia, Takahashi Katsuhiko, Phoong Jin Zhe expressed enthusiasm for fostering better and closer ties with Japan, as well as excitement about potential collaboration between Sabah and Japan.
He also announced that the Ministry will organize a business forum to further explore collaboration opportunities and attract potential investors to Sabah.
The discussions during the luncheon primarily revolved around the potential collaboration between Sabah and Japan, with a specific focus on industrial development and investments.
The Japanese Consul-General in Kota Kinabalu, Yamashita Yoshito, was also in attendance during the luncheon.
