The Sabah government will consider the request to increase the monthly allowances of the Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) staff, according to Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. In his keynote address at a ceremony during the UPPM Family Day, the Sabah Chief Minister said, “We will look into it. But all must work hard to help realize the government’s development agenda.” Earlier, UPPM director Datuk Awang Kadin Tang made the request during his welcoming speech.
Hajiji also encouraged community development leaders to be innovative and creative in improving their work processes. He emphasized that in today’s era of advanced technology, where information is easily accessible and distributed, they must be proactive in sharing information and solving problems. This would enhance their image and service quality in the eyes of the people, as they serve as a bridge between the government and the grassroots.
These leaders have been entrusted with the task of achieving the government’s development goals through the Sabah Maju Jaya development plan. Apart from efficient and effective delivery systems, they must also demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discipline in providing the best service to the people. Hajiji expressed his hope that the problems and needs of the people can be resolved and met. He emphasized that regardless of political ideologies, these leaders must prioritize providing excellent services to the grassroots community, ensuring that everyone can enjoy government-provided services and facilities without being neglected.
Hajiji called for these leaders to always uphold the principles of integrity and transparency, placing the interests of the organization first. He also urged them to work closely with the elected representatives in their respective areas.
