    Salahuddin’s remains transported to Pontian’s Masjid Jamek for imminent burial

    The remains of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub have been brought to Masjid Jamek Dato’ Haji Noh Gadot here.

    The hearse carrying the late Salahuddin’s remains left his mother’s house at Kampung Serkat (Kopi Tenggek) at 8.38am Monday (July 24).

    Funeral prayers are being held at the mosque before his body is laid to rest at the Jalan Sulong Muslim Cemetery here in Serkat.

    Earlier, his body arrived at his mother’s house at about 3.35am after the special plane carrying his body arrived at the Senai International Airport at about 2.30am.

    Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to pay his last respects to Salahuddin, who is also Parti Amanah Negara deputy president, at about 11am.

    Salahuddin, 61, passed away at 9.23pm on Sunday (July 23) at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar.
