PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri M. Saravanan has denied any knowledge of being contacted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to the arrest of a concert organiser who holds the title of “Datuk”.
The MIC deputy president expressed confusion over the sudden attention he has been receiving from certain individuals, apparent from photos circulating on social media showing him with the said “Datuk”.
“Why would the MACC need to contact me? Just because this man took a photo with me?” questioned the Tapah MP in response to queries about being contacted by the agency.
Saravanan further stated that it is not a criminal offense for any businessman to take a photo with him, as is the case with many others when he is out in public.
According to reports, the MACC intends to enlist the help of a former minister for assistance in the investigation of two businessmen, who are widely recognized for their efforts in bringing in Indian artists and distributing movies.
