As of 8pm on Sunday (March 3), a total of 1,361 flood victims from 351 families in Sarawak are still being accommodated at 12 temporary relief centres due to floods affecting the southern areas of the state.
According to the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee report, the number of flood evacuees decreased slightly from 1,497 people from 392 families at 14 relief centres on Sunday morning.
The report highlighted that three relief centres in Kuching had the highest number of victims, with Dewan R-Piang Kampung Sinar Budi Baru housing 297 victims, followed by Dewan Masyarakat Stapok (238) and Dewan Taman Malihah (227).
Currently, there are twelve active relief centres located in Kuching, Bau, Serian, and Siburan to provide assistance to those affected by the floods.
The relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Tengah, Lundu, was closed as of 8pm on Saturday (March 2), as mentioned in the report.
