Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, met with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Saturday (Oct 21).
The meeting was organized after the Crown Prince personally invited Anwar following the first ever Asean-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia in the capital on Friday (Oct 20).
Crown Prince Mohamed and Anwar discussed the recent escalation of the Palestinian-Israel conflict, which started again on Oct 7.
At the summit, both leaders expressed their concerns over Israel’s mistreatment and oppression of Palestinians in Gaza.
During the meeting, they also discussed various topics of mutual interest, including development opportunities in their respective countries.
In addition to attending the Asean-GCC Summit, Anwar used his two-day working visit to discuss enhancing bilateral and economic relations between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
On Oct 5, Crown Prince Mohammed personally called Anwar, extending an invitation for him to visit Saudi Arabia. – Bernama
