Approximately 9,000 residents in various parts of Air Itam will experience a planned water supply cut from 9am to 9pm on December 21 in order to connect diverted water pipes due to the construction of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu to Air Itam flyover project by the state,” Penang Water Supply Corporation Sdn Bhd (PBAPP) chief executive officer K. Pathmanathan stated on Friday (Dec 15).
The affected areas will include the Lebuhraya Thean Teik/Lintang Angsana intersection and Lebuhraya Thean Teik/Farlim Market intersection.
“To facilitate the pipe connection works, PBAPP will temporarily shut down a 600mm mild steel pipeline in the area,” he added.
This pipeline shutdown will result in a 12-hour scheduled supply cut along Lebuhraya Thean Teik and nearby areas in Air Itam, and PBAPP apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
Consumers are advised to store enough water for their use ahead of the disruption.
