A homeless man brought the second brother, who had been missing since January 1, to the police, as reported by the Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim on Thursday (Jan 18). The victim was taken to the Hulu Bernam police station around 10.48am by the homeless man, who is 28 years old.
Supt Ahmad Faizal said, “A homeless man brought the victim back. It is believed that the victim had previously escaped from a hotel in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur after staying there for nine days.”
“He then found refuge in an abandoned hotel in Pasar Seni for six days before on Jan 15, when he sought help from the homeless man. He was then brought to the Hulu Bernam police station,” he added.
The victim, confirmed to be the younger of two missing brothers, had found refuge after reported missing since Jan 1. The older brother was found near the Pasar Seni LRT station on Jan 11, then reporting a sexual assault the following day. The police chief, Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul, stated that the police arrested a suspect in front of a hotel in Jalan Sultan the day after the report was lodged.
The 42-year-old suspect has been remanded until Jan 19. The two brothers, aged 16 and 17, had reportedly gone missing after returning home from morning prayers near Taman Bernam Jaya.
