KUALA LUMPUR: Police in the federal capital will commence the second phase of Ops Hormat this Friday (Sept 15) with a duration of two weeks. The objective of this operation is to ensure that city residents comply with traffic laws and regulations.
The decision to hold a second phase of Ops Hormat was made after receiving positive feedback from the public regarding the earlier operation in July, according to Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid.
“Our aim is to promote safety and security in Kuala Lumpur. We also expect individuals to adhere to regulations regarding parking, traffic lights, signages, and other related matters,” said Allaudeen during a media conference on Wednesday (Sept 13).
The second phase of Ops Hormat will be conducted during peak hours in the morning and evening at 16 junctions in the capital, Allaudeen added. This operation is carried out with the cooperation of the Road Transport Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, and the Environment Department, and approximately 1,000 officers and personnel will be involved.
The affected junctions include Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Ampang, Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Semarak, Jalan Raja Laut-Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Bukit Bintang-Jalan Raja Chulan, and Jalan Imbi-Jalan Sultan Ismail, as reported by Bernama.
