Selangor MB sues Sanusi for defamation.

Caretaker Selangor mentri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari will take legal action against Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor over his speech made in Jitra, Kedah, recently, according to a statement released on Friday (Aug 4). Amirudin examined Sanusi’s speech, which was made during the Jelajah Mega PN Best Sayangi Kedah Sejahtera event at Dataran Darul Aman, Jitra. He claimed that the speech was slanderous and intended to divert attention from the rare earth element (REE) scandal. Amirudin strongly denied all the allegations made by Sanusi, stating that he had already addressed the matter during a Selangor state assembly sitting last year and the Parliament sitting on March 1, 2023. Amirudin has consulted with his lawyer and plans to initiate legal action against Sanusi next week for slander. It is believed that Sanusi’s allegations relate to a Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated project that would have caused significant financial losses to the state.
