GOMBAK: The unity government, which took office just seven months ago, has already started to produce results, according to caretaker Selangor mentri besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari. In a press conference after his nomination for the Sungai Tua seat, the Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairman highlighted the strengthening of the ringgit and the stabilization of goods prices as evidence of the government’s achievements. Amirudin said, “It has just been six to seven months, but we have already produced results just a few weeks before the election.” He also expressed confidence in the potential of the unity government to establish a stable administration for decades to come. He stated, “I believe there is backlash, but if we can coordinate and convey our message effectively, this could become a new wave of unity, and the unity government can be a coalition that remains stable for the next 30-40 years.”
In the upcoming election, Amirudin will face off against Perikatan Nasional’s Muhammad Hanif Jamaluddin and independent candidate Suman Gopal in a three-cornered fight. Nominations for the 245 seats in the six state polls concluded on Saturday (July 29) at 10 am, with polling scheduled for August 12.
