The caretaker Selangor government, led by Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, has announced that it will be taking legal action against those who attempt to tarnish its image as well as that of its subsidiaries. This decision comes as a response to what Amirudin calls “wild allegations” made by the Opposition, which he believes to be recycled slander that has already been addressed in state assembly meetings.
Amirudin expressed his belief that these allegations are the Opposition’s desperate attempt to convince voters in Selangor. However, he remains confident in Selangor’s achievements and discredited the attempts made by the Opposition to discredit the state’s economy before the start of the campaign.
The caretaker Mentri Besar emphasized that Selangor’s main focus is on presenting the success story of the past 15 years, particularly the last five years, to the people. This includes initiatives such as the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) and the latest Tawaran Kita Selangor: 5 Tekad untuk 5 Tahun (Our offer to Selangor: Five determinations for five years).
Amirudin also made it clear that he will be taking legal action against Kedah Mentri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for a speech made during a ceramah in Jitra, Kedah. He believes that this action is necessary to protect the reputation of the Selangor government and its subsidiaries.
When questioned about the alliance between Pakatan Harapan, Umno, and Barisan Nasional, Amirudin stated that the relationship between these parties has been improving. He also mentioned that the focus now is on securing a two-thirds majority for unity government parties in the upcoming state elections on August 12.
