Police in Selangor are investigating claims that Fahmi Fadzil, the Communication and Digital Minister, gave a political speech at a mosque in Kampung Melayu Seri Kundang, Rawang. A recording of the speech has been received by the police and they will analyze the content and provide feedback soon. The investigation will be conducted under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act. Selangor police chief, Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, made this announcement during a press briefing held at Universiti Putra Malaysia on August 1. Comm Hussein also mentioned that 16 police reports have been filed so far relating to the state election. Seven investigation papers have been opened to probe incidents of mischief such as tearing down posters and damaging flags.
