A fire in Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah, has resulted in the death of a 90-year-old woman, her daughter, and son-in-law, as well as the destruction of eight semi-wooden double-storey shoplots. The remains of the victims were found at one of the shoplots, according to the Fire and Rescue department.
“The fire was brought under control at 3.08am and affected eight two-storey shoplots. The first victim was discovered at 3.19am, while the second victim was found at 6am. The third victim was discovered later,” said a spokesperson for the department. They mentioned that the department is still working at the site.
It is believed that the couple operates a sundry shop, and the wife’s 90-year-old mother was present at the premises during the incident.
