In an unfortunate incident, a senior citizen lost his life when a tree fell on his car during a storm in Kampung Bukit Payong near Pokok Sena on Sunday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 3.20pm, prompting a swift response from the Fire and Rescue team after receiving the distress call. Tragically, OoI Book Khak, a 74-year-old man, got trapped and lost consciousness as a result of the tree crashing onto his vehicle.
Shahrin Musa, a Senior Officer II from the Fire and Rescue department, explained that specialized tools and a bulldozer were utilized in the rescue operation. However, despite every effort, the victim was pronounced dead. The police have taken over the case, and the fallen tree was successfully cleared by 5pm, as reported by Bernama.
