    An 81-year-old man died in a fire that destroyed his house in Kampung Sungai Pilah in Bukit Gambir on Sunday (Aug 27), according to Tangkak fire station operations commander Rafiah Aziz.

    Rafiah Aziz mentioned that the burned remains of Daud Abd Latif, who is believed to have been living alone, were discovered in the kitchen of the house. Sixteen firemen were sent to the location in response to the emergency call made at 6.16 am.

    Upon arrival, the house was already engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damages are currently unknown.

    This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for constant vigilance in preventing such accidents.
