Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is implementing load shedding as a result of low gas pressure that affected two Independent Power Producers (IPPs) on Monday (Oct 30).

In an official statement, the utility company announced that the disruption occurred at 3.15pm, triggering the need for power rationing.

The areas affected by the load shedding include Kota Kinabalu, Kudat, Kunak, Tenom, Kota Marudu, Beaufort, Keningau, Bongawan, Papar, Labuan, Tuaran, Lahad Datu, Semporna, Sandakan, Tawau, and Kinabatangan.

The objective of this move is to ensure the stability of the state’s grid system, as highlighted by SESB in their statement.

SESB is currently taking necessary measures to restore electricity in stages.

For any inquiries, consumers are encouraged to reach out to the SESB Careline at 15454 or 088-515000, or contact 019-8525427 via the mySESB app.
