A water services supplier, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), contributed to three charity homes in Selangor as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme called “Sesama Mara”. The programme provided much-needed aid in the form of basic necessities like food, school supplies, electrical appliances, and household essentials to 137 children across three charity homes. The homes that received assistance are Rita Home in Kapar, Salvation Kids Association in Klang, and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai in Kajang.
In addition to providing aid, 25 employees of Air Selangor, known as Hydro Heroes volunteers, took part in clean-up activities at the charity homes, including tasks like painting walls and mowing lawns. They also organized relaxing and fun activities, such as making traditional floor decorations known as kolam and aerobic exercises, to brighten the spirits of the children and bring joy to this year’s Deepavali celebration.
Since the introduction of Sesama Mara on June 30, 2020, Air Selangor has distributed 4,322 Boxes of Hope containing essential food items to B40 families in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
The public can contribute to the programme by physically purchasing at five Box of Hope locations within Village Grocer outlets in Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTOWN Shopping Centre Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, Central i-City Shah Alam, and Melawati Mall Ampang. Sesama Mara is a grassroots initiative aimed at community assistance and strengthening Air Selangor’s relations with various segments of society, such as the local community, residents’ associations, local authorities, and non-governmental organisations.
