Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Simpang Jeram state seat, Nazri Abdul Rahman, hopes to see more young voters coming out to vote.

Nazri expressed his satisfaction in seeing numerous young voters participating in the voting process at the four polling stations he visited.

“Many young voters arrived early to cast their votes, knowing that they have work obligations right after,” said Nazri.

He added, “I am confident that more will vote later in the day, particularly those with work-related commitments.”

Speaking to reporters at SJKC Pei Chai on Saturday (Sept 9), he urged those who have not voted yet to do so as soon as possible.

Nazri and his wife, 43-year-old Siti Seri Azura Ahmad, cast their votes earlier at the polling station in Muar.

Other candidates for the Simpang Jeram seat, Dr Mohd Mazri Yahya from Perikatan Nasional and independent candidate S. Jeganathan, were also seen visiting the same polling station.

At 11am, the Election Commission reported a voter turnout of 26% for the Simpang Jeram by-election.
