In an emotional moment, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, Malaysia’s renowned singer, expressed gratitude for the continuous support of her fellow Malaysians in donating to Palestinians through the Nurjiwa Foundation. She co-founded the foundation with her husband and serves as its chairman.

Known for her hit song “Cindai,” Siti Nurhaliza was deeply touched by the outpouring of generosity from Malaysians towards the Palestinians in Gaza, especially those in Rafah in urgent need of aid, particularly food.

She expressed her heartfelt appreciation, saying, “Whether it’s RM5 or RM10, the support keeps coming in without fail every day. The people of Gaza are like family to me.”

Siti Nurhaliza acknowledged the challenges faced by the Palestinians in Gaza, especially during Ramadan, and emphasized the foundation’s commitment to providing support during these difficult times.

While refraining from disclosing specific figures, the mother of two mentioned that the foundation has been delivering financial aid, food, clean water, clothing, and other essentials worth between RM50,000 to RM100,000 monthly to the Palestinian people since October 11, 2023.

She emphasized that the initiative, though modest, will persist as long as there are representatives on the ground to facilitate the distribution of donations to those in need.

Elaborating on the Infaq Ramadan Campaign, Siti Nurhaliza expressed hope that the initiative will foster a spirit of generosity during the holy month of Ramadan.

She highlighted the special blessings and rewards of charity during Ramadan, drawing inspiration from the enthusiasm of the community in Makkah for charitable acts.

As part of the campaign, the foundation will distribute food boxes to underprivileged individuals identified by the organization, ensuring they can participate in the joyous occasions of Ramadan and Eid celebrations.

In addition to distributing the Quran, prayer rugs, mosque and surau repairs, and porridge, the foundation also provides new clothes for orphans and less fortunate individuals.

Donations for the Infaq Ramadan Campaign can be sent to the Nurjiwa Foundation’s Maybank account: 514486106455. – Bernama
