Six Police Personnel Detained Following Raid at Entertainment Outlet in Sitiawan
KUALA LUMPUR – In a recent raid conducted by the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS), six police personnel have been detained at an entertainment outlet in Sitiawan. The raid, which took place on Saturday (July 8) at 11.30pm, revealed that the police personnel were allegedly partying with an Indonesian woman in a karaoke room within the establishment.
During the operation, the JIPS raiding team also made a significant discovery – a small packet containing a white substance believed to be ketamine. The suspects, who are believed to be affiliated with a district police headquarters in Perak, now face potential disciplinary actions and further investigation.
In addition to the drug-related findings, it was revealed during subsequent checks that one of the police personnel, who is a Muslim, was consuming alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, another member of the group tested positive for ganja, a type of cannabis. These revelations underscore the need for a thorough investigation into the conduct of the detained individuals.
Bukit Aman JIPS director, Comm Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad, has confirmed the arrests, which were carried out in collaboration with the Perak Islamic Religious Department. He added, “The Perak JIPS is currently leading the investigation, focusing primarily on disciplinary infringements. While there are situations that may permit the presence of police personnel in such premises based on internal orders, any involvement in drugs or alcohol will be thoroughly investigated.”
