    Six people, including three siblings face charges for drugs, firearms

    JOHOR BARU: Six individuals, including three siblings and a man who uses a wheelchair, have been charged with possessing drugs and firearms. The accused are Mohammad Raffi Yahya, 35, who is wheelchair-bound, Mohamad Zaidi Sani, 34, Afiq Zaidi, 23, and the three siblings Siti Nurfatimah Sottor, 32, Muhammad Taufik Sallehudin, 30, and Siti Nurshafina, 24. They were charged at the Magistrate’s Court, Sessions Court, and Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) in Johor Baru.

    Only Mohammad Raffi was charged at HSA because he had Covid-19 and was receiving tuberculosis treatment.

    The six individuals faced their charges in the presence of Magistrate Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin, Magistrate R. Salini, and Sessions Judge VM Mabel Sheela. They did not enter a plea during the proceedings. The drug charges will be heard again in the Magistrate’s Court on November 8, December 21, and January 29, 2024, while the firearms charges will be heard in the Sessions Court on October 26.

    Muhammad Taufik Sallehudin and Mohamad Zaidi are charged with trafficking 59.88g of methamphetamine and 14.81g of cannabis at a residence on Jalan Lading 10 in Taman Puteri Wangsa on September 19 at approximately 2.15am.

    Siti Nurfatimah is facing charges for possessing 665g of ketamine, trafficking 81g of Yaba pills, and 106g of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) at a house on Jalan Gunung in Taman Gunung Emas near Ulu Tiram on September 19 at around 9.15am. She, along with Siti Nurshafina, Mohammad Raffi, and Afiq, are also charged with trafficking 27,539g of cannabis at a residence on Jalan Bestari 33/2 in Taman Bestari Indah on September 19 at approximately 2am.

    The four individuals are also accused of trafficking 1,818g of heroin and 1,944g of methamphetamine at the same location and time. Additionally, they allegedly had in their possession 136 live rounds of ammunition, as well as a Colt pistol with one magazine, a STI GP6 pistol with one magazine, a silver-coloured revolver, and a Glock pistol with one magazine.

    Deputy Public Prosecutors Wong Zi Qian and Nuraqiilah Ahmad Rofaie served as the prosecutors for the cases, while lawyer Muhammad Abd Kadir represented all six accused individuals.
