SEPANG: Selangor police have stated that the skeletal remains found in a drain in Klang may belong to a man who was reported missing in June. Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the chief of police, revealed that a post-mortem on the skeletal remains, which were discovered on Aug 27 along Jalan Kebun, indicated that the individual was roughly 30 years old, matching the description of the missing person. However, confirmation through a DNA test is required to establish a definitive connection.
The DNA test is anticipated to take approximately two weeks to complete, confirmed Comm Hussein. He also added that further investigations will be conducted to determine if the case involves any criminal elements.

Comm Hussein addressed reporters after the disposal of case items at Sepang police headquarters on Wednesday (Sept 6). He disclosed that the case items, with an estimated value of RM216,318.26, are connected to eight cases, including illegal cryptocurrency mining. Of these, six have already gone to court while the others have been classified as having no further action.
In a separate matter, Comm Hussein revealed that disciplinary measures have been taken against a police sergeant accused of khalwat (close proximity). He emphasized that any police officer tarnishing the image of the Royal Malaysia Police will face appropriate actions in accordance with the rules of conduct for public servants. These actions may involve a transfer to another department, demotion, or even termination. Comm Hussein mentioned that investigations are ongoing as the case involves another party. Two investigation papers have been opened, one of which relates to a report filed by the accused police sergeant.
