KLANG: A man’s skeletal remains were discovered in a drain near Jalan Kebun in Klang. South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong received a call from a local resident on Sunday evening (Aug 27) reporting the finding. A police team was promptly dispatched to the scene and uncovered a human skull and skeletal remains, believed to be from the hip downwards, which were stuck near a pipe in the drain. On Tuesday (Aug 29), ACP Cha confirmed that the skeletal remains have been sent to the Shah Alam Forensic Department for a post-mortem. However, due to the incomplete nature of the remains, the cause of death could not be determined. The forensic department did ascertain that the skeleton belonged to a man in his 30s, but could not identify the man’s race or identity. ACP Cha urged anyone with information or family members of missing persons to come forward with relevant information. He advised them to contact the South Klang police hotline at 03-3376 2222. In addition, it was reported that the Fire and Rescue Department were summoned to the scene to assist in the removal of an unidentified body found in the drain. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations), Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, stated that they were informed of the incident on Sunday evening and were requested by the police to provide a ladder to retrieve the body.
