(Reuters) – Italian champions Napoli have completed the signing of Sweden midfielder Jens Cajuste from Ligue 1 side Stade Reims, according to statements from both clubs on Thursday.
Although no financial details were disclosed, Italian media outlets reported that Napoli paid 12 million euros ($13.19 million) for the 24-year-old midfielder.
Cajuste began his stint with Stade Reims in January 2022, after spending three and a half years with Danish club Midtjylland, where he clinched the league title in 2020.
Having made his debut for Sweden in a 2-0 friendly defeat against Denmark in November 2020, Cajuste has since earned 15 caps for his national team.
The midfielder was included in Sweden’s 26-man squad for Euro 2020, which was postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The current exchange rate between the euro and the US dollar is $1 = 0.9098 euros.
