BERLIN (Reuters) – According to the Athletic website, Bayern Munich, the German champions, reached a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of England captain Harry Kane. The Bavarians have been pursuing the striker for several months, with the deal estimated to be worth around 100 million euros ($110.19 million). Despite the report, Bayern chose not to comment on the matter.
Bayern Munich, who clinched their record 11th league title last season, are eager to bring Kane aboard to strengthen their attack and compete for the Champions League trophy once again. The Athletic reported that it now falls on Kane, who has one more year remaining on his contract with Tottenham, to accept Bayern Munich’s offer.
Bayern Munich will commence their season this Saturday with the German Super Cup match against RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga will kick off next week.
