PUTRAJAYA: A social media influencer is expected to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur courts in connection with an investigation over alleged abuse of a public donation fund.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it has been given the go-ahead to charge Mohd Hazalif Mohd Hazani.

“Mohd Hazalif, better known as Alif Teega will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur courts on Friday (Sept 20),” the commission said in a statement posted on TikTok.

On July 10, the influencer and his wife were detained by the MACC in connection with millions of ringgit in donations, which allegedly did not go through the proper channel.

The MACC also froze 20 bank accounts containing RM740,000 in funds in the course of the investigation into the alleged abuse of donation funds involving the married couple and two other individuals.

The accounts belonged to individuals and companies with connections to donations collected using an online donation platform.
