PETALING JAYA: Many people on social media have expressed their condolences for Blake, the dog who participated in the search for victims of the Batang Kali landslide and was recently euthanised due to cancer.
One person, Lin Yee, wrote on social media, “Blake fainted during operations at Batang Kali. Goodbye little one. Thanks for everything. Rest in peace. Love you baby.”
Another person, David Kiun, also paid tribute to Blake, who had been diagnosed with stage four lymphoma.

Kiun mentioned in his tribute, “Rest in peace lil one. U’ve done a great job and we’re all so proud of all d great work you’ve done. Its time for u to rest & be w ur own kind across d rainbow bridge. May Blake rest in peace and reap the merits he gained from rescuing the many victims (sic).”
Others also expressed their condolences, such as Dorai Raj who said “Rip Hero Blake” and Jane Chin who said “Eternal rest, Blake.”
Blake was admitted to the pet dog ward at the University Putra Malaysia’s Veterinary Faculty on September 14 when he showed a loss of appetite and lethargy.
According to a statement from the Veterinary Department on Monday (September 18), the cancer had aggressively spread in Blake’s body.
