A Starlink satellite device has been installed at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Malaing in Kampung Malaing, Keningau, Sabah, where there have been reported issues with telecommunications. Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil shared this information on Facebook. He stated his commitment to ensuring that 100% of populated areas have internet access, with only three percent remaining at this time.
In a video clip shared by Fahmi, SK Malaing headmaster Denis Gapilit expressed gratitude for the installation of the Starlink internet device. He mentioned that teachers, pupils, and the community as a whole, especially those around the school, will benefit from this device. He pointed out that it will facilitate teachers in conducting online teaching and learning (PdP), which is widely adopted by the Ministry of Education, as well as providing students with access to online learning resources. The video also showed the device being installed on the roof of the school’s multipurpose hall.
