The state police contingent of Melaka has deployed 478 senior officers and personnel to strengthen law enforcement on polling day in the neighbouring state of Negri Sembilan on Saturday (Aug 12).
Melaka’s deputy police chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Md Nazri Zawawi, stated that the personnel were dispatched in 31 vehicles, including 14 lorries, 11 vans, and six buses.
He further emphasized that they have also sent 24 motorcycles and four high-powered bikes to Negri Sembilan to ensure a smooth election process.
“The assistance from here to the neighbouring state will continue until the election is concluded or as per the needs of our counterparts in Negri Sembilan,” he stated during the sending-off ceremony at Melaka police headquarters in Bukit Beruang on Thursday (Aug 10).
