PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has reported that 50% of eligible voters in Terengganu have cast their votes for the state election as of 1pm. Meanwhile, the voter turnout in five other states stands at around 40%, with Kedah at 49%, Penang at 46%, Selangor at 44%, Negri Sembilan at 42%, and Kelantan at 40%.
The Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election recorded a voter turnout of 47% as of 1pm.
Today, a total of 3,190 polling centres with 17,048 voting streams were opened for the six state elections, commencing at 8am. Additionally, 41 polling centres with 217 voting streams were also opened for the Kuala Terengganu by-election. – Bernama
