KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Amanah Negara plans to make its presence felt in the upcoming state elections by contesting about 67 seats across five states, according to Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, the Amanah deputy president.

While the total number of seats has yet to be confirmed, the party has decided to compete in all states except Penang, as reported by Malay language daily Sinar Harian.

“Out of the 245 state assembly seats up for grabs, Amanah will aim for seven in Kelantan, three or four in Terengganu, and seven or eight in Kedah,” stated Salahuddin on Tuesday (July 11).

In addition, he mentioned that Amanah will contest nine seats in Selangor and three seats in Negri Sembilan.

The Election Commission has announced that the upcoming state elections will take place on August 12 in six states: Selangor, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kelantan, and Kedah.
