BATANG Kali Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Mohd Isa Abu Kasim (pic) cast his vote at SK Rasa in Batang Kali with his family at 8.15am on Saturday (Aug 12).

The 58-year-old Umno man was accompanied by his wife Datin Roslina Sampul, 57 and daughters Nurlisa Izzati, 28, Nurlisa Liya Husna, 26 Nulisa Atiqah, 24 and son Mohd Aiman 22, who also cast their votes together.

Isa said he was glad to have his entire family supporting him on polling day.

“Many do not have this privilege and I am blessed for it.

“I am also glad the weather was good and the process was smooth at polling stations here across the Hulu Selangor district,” he said.

Isa is facing Perikatan Nasional candidate Muhamad Muhaimin Harith Abdullah Sani from Bersatu.

The Batang Kali seat was won by Harumaini Omar (then Pakatan Harapan) in the 2018 general election with a 51% majority.

The seat was declared vacant in February this year by Selangor Speaker Ng Suee Lim after Harumaini failed to attend the state assembly sitting for more than six months.
