SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan DAP is backing Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to serve a second term as Mentri Besar if Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional successfully defend the state in the upcoming Aug 12 polls. DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook praised Aminuddin for his leadership qualities and commitment to serving all communities. “Aminuddin has not only excelled as a leader but has also shown fairness and ensured the welfare of all races,” Loke said during a party dinner in Seremban. He further stated that the state DAP will convey their support for Aminuddin to the Pakatan leadership.
Loke stressed the importance of continuing to support the unity government, which prioritizes the wellbeing of all citizens. “Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s government is committed to multiracialism and fights for everyone. It is the only option we have, and we should rally behind it,” he added.
In the previous general election held in 2018, Pakatan Harapan secured 20 out of the 36 state seats, with Barisan Nasional winning the remaining 16. Loke expressed confidence in all Pakatan MPs and assemblymen in Negri Sembilan, stating that they have served well and will continue to do so with the mandate from the people.
“The decisive victory in the state election will ensure political stability, which is crucial for attracting investments. We must signal to Malaysians that we want a stable and strong government led by Anwar Ibrahim,” Loke emphasized.
