Controversial celebrity Diva AA, also known as Azwan Ali, was the first person to arrive at the SK Klang Gate polling centre in Hulu Kelang on Saturday morning. The brother of Selangor Perikatan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Azmin Ali initially expressed his reluctance to vote any longer.
“You have to write that, because I gave up. Dislike … dislike … dislike,” he repeatedly signaled the thumbs-down symbol to the media. He further expressed his frustration with the state of the country’s politics, calling it “all (deleted) and nonsense.”
Nevertheless, he ultimately decided that his vote still held value and made the journey to exercise his democratic right. “The value of one vote is too great to waste. It’s not about the candidate, winning or losing. The issue is that we fulfill our duty as citizens,” he stated, urging the media to encourage all citizens to participate in the voting process.
When questioned about the coincidence of being the first person to vote at the same polling centre where his brother is a candidate, Diva AA replied, “Surprisingly, this is his first time running in Hulu Kelang after years of being a ‘somebody.’ But that’s his business.”
He also pointed out his red shawl, clarifying that he did not purchase it in Nibong Tebal but rather in Paris. Diva AA emphasized that a voter’s ballot choice is a secret, but one that is not kept from the press or his followers as “they know my choice.”
