ALOR SETAR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he forgave everyone who mistreated him and his family because he is now the nation’s leader and has to set a good example to the people.
The Prime Minister said he had accepted the bad episode in his life as fate, adding that he did not want to harp on it.
“Many things have been said about me, did I say anything back?
“They accused me of doing a lot of things, enough is enough, I have forgiven all a long time ago,” he said during his first stop of the Jelajah Perpaduan Madani campaign at Kuala Nerang here on Friday (Aug 11).
He, however, warned that he would not forgive those who stole money from the people and even rare earth elements, adding that he “will find them”.
Anwar said it was already hard for the people to earn even RM100 now, but these leaders just want to earn easy money.
He also slammed those who used religion in politics and said it was hard to believe these types of leaders.
“You slander people and use religion and create your own ‘fatwa’ for your own self,” he said.
During the ceramah, Anwar urged the people in Kedah to give a chance to the unity pact in the state election so that the new state government would align with Putrajaya.
He said the people in Kedah would benefit from this alliance as it would be a strong government.
Anwar is expected to go to Hutan Kampung and Gurun later at night for the ceramah series before moving to Sungai Petani for the grand finale.
Six states – Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Negri Sembilan – will face the state elections on Saturday (Aug 12).
